Mogadishu (Onkod Radio) — Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has appointed Yusuf Hussein Madale, as the new Governor of Banadir Region and the Mayor of Mogadishu, Goobjoog media reported.
Yusuf Madale replaces Omar Filish who had been appointed by Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo, and had been in the position for the last three years
Rumors had been circulating in recent days of Omar Filish’s sacking owing to what was said to be allegations of incitement against opposition figures, including the current President last year.
Yusuf Madale previously held this position between November 2, 2015 and April 5, 2017, at which time he was also appointed by President Hassan Sheikh.
