Al-Shabab militants claim to have killed 87 Ethiopian police in Somali-Ethiopian border area

Mogadishu (Onkod Radio) — Somalia militant group Al-Shabab, an Alqaeda’s Somalia affiliate on Thursday claimed to have killed 87 Ethiopian Liyuu police from the Ethiopian Somali regional state in attack on Wednesday in Bakool region.

Al-Shabab which also said to have crossed into Ethiopia on Wednesday attack on Yeed and Aato towns. Some sources that Ethiopian Somali region’s police are fighting the Shabab inside Ethiopia’s Afdheer region.

“Our forces killed at least 87 soldiers Yeed and Aato camps, and it is possible that casualties increase,” Al-Shabab radio, Andalus published on its page.

Al-Shabaab published purported pictures of Liyu Police camps in the Somali towns of Yeed and Aato towns.

In a statement by Ogaden National Liberation Front condemned the heinous attack by the Shabab and urged its members and the somali people in Ethiopia to work with the security forces.
